Our first designer collection, by way of an old friend with very good taste and the island she calls home.
AN OLD FRIEND, A NEW COLLECTION
Amanda found Business & Pleasure when our founders, Ollie and Lach had little more than a few beach umbrellas to their name. She saw the world beginning to take shape before we had quite the words for it ourselves, then made certain others saw it too.
Now, some years and a great many umbrellas later, she has welcomed us into hers. Together, we’ve created B&P’s first collection with an interior designer, and seeing Amanda’s name beside our own feels at once rather remarkable and entirely inevitable.
Amanda designs around the life a space will hold: how people gather, how they entertain, where the first drink is poured and what remains after the last guest has gone home. In her hands, even a new house seems to arrive with a history.
For this collection, that instinct goes Al Fresco. And Our bestselling collection takes on Amanda’s particular way of living outdoors, with Jaipur, one of her favorite block prints, scaled up across seating, umbrellas, cooler bags and towels, alongside a new Sage Green frame.

HOME TO THE BAHAMAS
To photograph it, four of us followed Amanda home to The Bahamas, where the collection fell easily into the rhythm of her days and, before long, so did we.
Afternoons drifted from garden to water. Dinner stretched on beneath the umbrellas. Somewhere in between, cooler and crew alike went for a swim.
Asked what keeps her in The Bahamas, Amanda put it simply: “I love a proper old-fashioned life, and I found it here.” By the time the last light left the table, with dinner still going beneath the umbrellas, we understood the appeal.
And while she was reluctant to choose a favorite from the collection, she eventually conceded that the Sage Green frames with Jade Green Jaipur had won her over: “Full disclosure: I love the green frames with the green print best of all.” A very good place to start.
