WARRANTY TERMS
All Business & Pleasure Co. products sold in Australia come with a 12-month warranty* covering manufacturer’s defects and faults under normal use. Certain exclusions apply and are outlined in detail below. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Warranty Eligibility & Claims
The Business & Pleasure Co. product warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects only and applies exclusively to the original purchaser. All warranty claims must be supported by the original Business & Pleasure Co. order number issued by us, a description of the issue (including how the damage occurred), and clear photographs of the affected product. If the product was not purchased directly from Business & Pleasure Co., warranty claims must be submitted through the original authorised retailer.
Care Requirements
Proper care and maintenance are required to ensure product longevity and for the warranty to remain valid. Products must be cared for in accordance with the instruction manual provided at the time of purchase.

Warranty Limitations
This limited warranty covers manufacturer defects only and does not apply to damage caused by external factors, including but not limited to natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, misuse, post-purchase modifications (such as engraving or added accessories), or normal wear and tear.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Business & Pleasure Co. is not liable for any accident, injury, death, loss, or other claim arising from the use or misuse of our products. We are not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages relating to or resulting from the use of our products or any of their components.
Warranty Determination
Business & Pleasure Co. reserves the right to determine, at its discretion, whether a reported issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect.
Environmental Use & Maintenance Notice
Items placed in coastal areas, highly humid environments, or tropical climates require more frequent maintenance due to increased moisture levels in the air. Exposure to seaside conditions, indoor or outdoor pool use, salt, and chlorides may accumulate on powder-coated and raw material finishes, which can lead to premature finish failure.
Failure to carry out regular cleaning and maintenance of powder-coated finishes may result in blistering, flaking, or bubbling of paint and will void the limited warranty. Likewise, failure to properly maintain umbrella, base, and metal finishes may cause aluminium and other metal components to pit, oxidise, or corrode. Damage resulting from inadequate maintenance or environmental exposure is not covered under warranty and will void all applicable warranties.
To help extend the lifespan of products used in these environments, we recommend rinsing items regularly with fresh water to remove salt and chloride residue and ensuring they are completely dry before storage. Additional recommended precautions include:
- Regular inspection for early signs of corrosion or surface deterioration
- Application of appropriate protective coatings or treatments to extend product life (our team can provide recommendations upon request)
- Storage in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use
- Use of protective covers or barriers to reduce prolonged exposure to moisture
While all our products are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, materials may respond differently depending on environmental conditions. Following the recommended care and maintenance instructions is essential to help preserve appearance, performance, and longevity.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by wind or adverse weather conditions, normal wear and tear, accidents, or misuse. Wind conditions can vary significantly depending on environment, elevation, and gust direction. In high winds or sudden windy conditions, all umbrellas must be closed and secured immediately. Damage resulting from wind exposure is not covered under warranty.
Canvas Performance & Care
Our umbrella canvas is treated with a UV- and water-resistant coating to help protect against rot, mildew, and discolouration under normal conditions*. Proper care and maintenance are required for warranty coverage to apply, including keeping materials and components free from salt and chloride build-up, particularly in seaside or coastal environments.
Normal conditions include temporary outdoor beach or park use. Intensive use as permanent patio or backyard setups may result in premature ageing, which is not covered under warranty.
Mould & Mildew Disclaimer
Mould and mildew grow on dirt, pollen, and other organic matter and may develop if the canvas is not properly maintained. As this is a natural occurrence, it is not covered under warranty. With proper care, mould or mildew can typically be removed. Please contact our team for cleaning guidance if needed.
Placement Disclaimer

The aluminium pole is finished with a Dulux powder coating to enhance resistance to exterior conditions. Normal wear and tear or rough handling may result in chipping of the coated surface. As such, the warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, rough treatment, or misuse. The aluminium pole may be submerged in water for pool shelf use but should be removed from the pool when not in use to best preserve its appearance and longevity.

Our bases, Al Fresco Collection, and Waterhouse Collection are treated with multiple layers of pre-protection to help guard against corrosion, followed by a Dulux powder-coated finish designed to improve resistance to exterior conditions. Normal wear and tear or rough handling of powder-coated furniture or accessories may result in chipping of the coated surface. As these items are constructed from carbon steel, any exposed areas may become prone to rust or corrosion.

Environmental Use & Maintenance
Products placed in coastal, seaside, or chlorinated environments require more frequent maintenance. Exposure to sea air or chlorinated conditions may accelerate deterioration of a product’s finish. Regular cleaning is recommended to help maintain appearance and reduce wear over time.
Base Recommendations
While we may recommend specific base options for particular umbrella styles, these recommendations are provided as general guidance only. Environmental conditions vary, and different settings may require alternative base solutions.
Rust Disclaimer
Rust is a natural part of the ageing process for all steel or iron-based materials and is not considered a defect. As such, rust is not covered under warranty. Steel items are designed to require minimal maintenance but must be kept clean and properly maintained to help prevent surface damage, chipping, or corrosion.

Warranty Coverage
Our warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects in materials and craftsmanship, including split seams, broken handles, and broken zippers, within the applicable warranty period.
What’s Not Covered
This warranty does not cover damage caused by contact with foreign objects, untreated stains, misuse, or abuse, including rips, burns, tears, or holes.

To help extend the lifespan of your products and protect them from dust and dirt, we recommend storing them under shelter when not in use. Proper care and maintenance are required for warranty coverage to apply, including ensuring materials and components remain free from salt and chloride buildup, particularly in seaside or indoor pool environments.

Natural variations in color, grain, or texture may occur and are not considered defects.

Our towels are hand-loomed from 100% cotton with a thick GSM weight. Our warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects only and does not apply to damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, or misuse.

Warranty Coverage
Our warranty covers the temperature-regulating performance, material issues, and defects in craftsmanship of Hemingway Coolers under normal, non-commercial use.
What’s Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Natural disasters
- Commercial or rental use
- Accidental damage, including drops, impacts, scratches, blemishes from use, or chipped paint
- Lost parts or accessories
- Damage caused by improper use, care, or cleaning, including retained odours
- Post-purchase modifications, including engraving or the addition of accessories
Material & Performance Considerations
Plastic components may naturally expand and contract in response to environmental conditions. Minor lid warping may occur and is not considered a defect unless it significantly impacts the performance or functionality of the cooler.
Scope of Warranty
This warranty applies exclusively to the roto-moulded cooler body and does not extend to individual components, parts, graphics, finishes, or accessories. The warranty will be void if the product is structurally altered or subjected to stress beyond the physical limits of the materials used in the cooler body or its components.
Proper care and maintenance are required for warranty coverage to apply. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
At our discretion, approved claims may result in repair, replacement, or store credit. To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages.
