All our products come with a 12-month guarantee protecting you from any manufacturer’s defects or abnormal damages/faults to your product. We do have some exclusions to our warranty, which you will see written out in detail below. GENERAL LIMITATIONS
The Business & Pleasure Co. product warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects only, which applies only to the original purchaser. All warranty claims must be supported by your original Business & Pleasure Co. order number issued by us, a description of damaged product, including how the damage occurred, along with photos of the damaged product. If you did not purchase directly from us, you'll need to contact your reseller.
Proper care needs to be taken to ensure the longevity of these products. The warranty is only valid if the product is cared for as instructed in the instruction manual supplied at purchase.
This limited warranty covers only manufacturer defects, not damage caused by external factors such as natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, misuse, or post-purchase modifications to the product (engraving, additional accessories, etc.). Normal wear and tear are not covered under this limited warranty.
Business & Pleasure Co assumes no liability for any accident, injury, death, loss, or other claim related to or resulting from the use of our products. In no event shall we be liable for incidental or consequential damages relating to or resulting from the use of our products or any of their parts.
We reserve the right to determine whether the fault is a manufacturing defect or not.
SEASIDE AND POOL USE
Items placed in coastal areas or highly humid environments require more regular maintenance due to increased moisture levels in the air. Seaside and indoor/outdoor pool use, salt, and chlorides can accumulate on the powder coat finishes and on raw material finishes, leading to premature finish failure. Failure or neglect to make needed cleanings on powder coat finishes may cause paint to blister, flake, or bubble, and such failure will void the limited warranty. Failure to maintain umbrella and base finishes may cause aluminum and metals to pit, oxidize, or corrode. Such failure will void all warranties.
Residents of highly humid areas, such as tropical climates, should take particular care to prevent the build-up of moisture-related residues. We advise that you rinse down your products using fresh water to prevent the build-up of salt and chloride residues and ensure they are completely dry before storing away. Additionally, we recommend implementing the following precautions to extend the life of your products in such environments:
- Regularly inspect your items for signs of corrosion or deterioration.
- Apply protective coatings or treatments to extend the lifetime of the product (You can receive some recommendations of products to use by contacting our team.)
- Store your products in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use.
- Consider using additional protective covers or barriers to shield your items from excessive moisture exposure.
While all our products are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, materials are affected differently in different environments. We recommend following the care instructions provided to maximize their lifespan.
BEACH UMBRELLAS
Including the Holiday Beach Umbrella, Premium Beach Umbrella, Premium Beach Tent, and Cabana
The warranty does not cover damage caused by wind or adverse weather conditions, fair wear and tear, accidents, or misuse. Wind can be extremely variable, depending on the environment and changes with elevation, angle of gusts, etc. In any high wind or sudden windy conditions, ALL umbrellas should be closed and secured immediately. Damage of this nature is not covered under warranty.
Our umbrella canvas is treated with a UV and water-resistant coating to protect against rot, mildew, and discoloration typical in normal conditions*. Users must properly maintain products for the warranty to be effective, and extra care needs to be taken to ensure the materials and components are kept clean of any build-up of salt and chloride.
*Normal conditions include temporary outdoor beach/park usage. Intensive usage of these products as permanent patio or backyard setups can cause pre-mature aging. Pre-mature aging due to excessive use is not covered under our warranty.
Mold/mildew grows on dirt, pollen, and other organic matter, and can grow on your umbrella canvas if it is not properly maintained. As this is a natural occurrence, it is not covered under our warranty. If your umbrella canvas develops mold or mildew, it can easily be removed. Reach out to our team for helpful instructions. Users must properly maintain fabrics for the warranty to be effective.

The Aluminum pole is Dulux powder coated to make the surface further resistant to exterior conditions. Any ‘wear and tear’ and/or rough treatment can result in chipping of the coated surface. Our warranty only covers manufacturer’s faults and defects, not damage caused by accidents, rough treatment, or misuse. The Aluminum pole can be submerged in water for use on a pool shelf but should be removed from the pool when not in use to best preserve its beauty.

B&P Co’s Teakwood is a natural material that can be affected by exposure to moisture, and the appearance may change over time. Any changes in the visual appearance of the wood directly linked to aging are not covered by warranty.

BASES & AL FRESCO COLLECTION
Our bases and Al Fresco Collection are treated with levels of pre-protection that assist with guarding against corrosion, before being Dulux powder coated to make the surface further resistant to exterior conditions. Any ‘wear and tear’ and/or rough treatment of powder coated accessories and furniture can result in chipping of the coated surface, and because these are carbon steel, they can then be prone to rust/corrosion. Our warranty only covers manufacturer’s faults and defects, not damage caused by accidents, rough treatment, or misuse.
Items placed in coastal areas require more regular maintenance. Exposure to sea air and chlorinated environments may accelerate deterioration to a product’s finish, so we recommend regular cleaning of your products to maintain appearance and guard against wear and tear.
We can recommend specific bases for specific umbrella types, but these are recommendations only, as each environment is different and may require different base options.
Rust Disclaimer
Rust is a natural part of the aging process of all steel or iron-based materials. It is not considered a defect and is not covered under warranty. Steel items are designed to require minimum maintenance and should be kept clean and well maintained to prevent damage/chipping.
POOL FLOATS/LOUNGERS & OUTDOOR CUSHIONS
Including: the Pool Lounger, XL Lounger, Pool Float, Modular Pillow Stack, Throw Pillows, Folding Pillow Lounger, Floor Pillows, and Seat Cushions
Our warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects, including split seams, broken handles, and broken zippers within the warranty period. The warranty does not cover damage from contact with foreign objects, untreated stains, misuse, or abuse (such as rips, burns, tears, and holes).
Our Pleasuretex umbrella canvas is made to last in all weather conditions, featuring UV, mold, and fade protection (up to 1500 hours fade resistance). To extend their lifespan and protect them from dust and dirt, store them under shelter when not in use. Users must properly maintain products for the warranty to be effective, and extra care should be taken to ensure the materials and components remain free of any build-up of salt and chloride.
The warranty applies exclusively to the product body and does not extend to components, parts, graphics, or the loss of accessories.
Mold/mildew grows on dirt, pollen, and other organic matter, and can grow on these substances on your product if it is not properly maintained. As this is a natural occurrence, it is not covered under our warranty. We recommend caring for your products accordingly to avoid this. If the canvas develops mold or mildew, it can easily be removed. Reach out to our team for helpful instructions. Users must properly maintain fabrics for the warranty to be effective.
Note: Proper maintenance includes regular cleaning of the fabric. With intensive usage of the products in hostile environments (such as seaside and indoor pool use), we advise rinsing the fabric with fresh water to prevent the build-up of salt and chloride residues.
TIMBER FRAMES
Including: Any/all chairs, umbrellas, tents, and cabanas including Timber, Teakwood or Bamboo materials.
B&PCo’s Eco Timber, Teakwood, and Bamboo are natural materials that can be affected by exposure to moisture, and the appearance may change over time. Any changes in the visual appearance of the wood directly linked to aging are not covered by warranty.
There can be some variety in the color of the timber, teakwood, and bamboo. This is not a defect in the product, and therefore will not be covered by the warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by wind or adverse weather conditions, fair wear and tear, accidents, or misuse.
TOWELS/BLANKETS/BATHMATS
Our towels are hand loomed from 100% Cotton in a thick GSM weight. Our warranty only covers manufacturer’s faults and defects and does not cover damage caused by fair wear and tear, accidents, or misuse.
SOFT COOLERS/TABLE LINENS
Including: The Premium Cooler, Holiday Cooler, Cooler Tote Bag, Backpack Coolers, Wine Cooler Tote, Picnic Set, Beach Bag, Apron, Placemats and Table Cloth
Our warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects including split seams, broken leather straps/handles, and broken zippers within the warranty period. The warranty does not cover damage from contact with foreign objects, stains left untreated, misuse, or abuse (rips, burns, tears, and holes). Users must properly maintain fabrics as per the user guide for the warranty to be effective.
The warranty applies exclusively to the product body and does not extend to components, parts, graphics, or loss of accessories included.
Note: proper maintenance includes cleaning of fabric regularly. With intensive usage of the products in a hostile environment (seaside and indoor pool use), we advise that you rinse the fabric using fresh water to prevent the build-up of salt and chloride residues.
HEMINGWAY COOLERS
Including: the Hemingway Coolers
Our warranty covered the temperature-regulating abilities, material issues, or defects in craftsmanship for our Hemingway Coolers. However, it does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, natural disasters, commercial usage, or accidental damage such as drops, hits, scratches, blemishes from use, chipped paint, and similar occurrences.
Please note that plastics regularly expand and contract in response to environmental conditions, which can lead to slight lid warping. Unless this warping significantly affects the performance of the cooler, it is not covered under our warranty.
The warranty applies exclusively to the roto-molded cooler body and does not extend to components, parts, graphics, or accessories. Additionally, the warranty becomes void if the product is structurally altered or subjected to stress beyond the physical limits of the materials used in the body or components.
Additionally, lost parts or accessories, as well as damage due to improper use, care, or cleaning (including retained odors), are not covered. Post-purchase modifications to the product (such as engraving, additional accessories, etc.) are not included in the warranty coverage. Users must properly maintain items for the warranty to be effective.
HEMINGWAY DRINKWARE
Including: the Hemingway Flask, Highball, and Coupe
Our warranty covered the temperature-regulating abilities, material issues, or defects in craftsmanship for our Hemingway Drinkware. However, it does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, natural disasters, or accidental damage such as drops, hits, scratches, blemishes from use, chipped paint, and similar occurrences. Additionally, lost parts or accessories, as well as damage due to improper use, care, or cleaning (including retained odors), are not covered. Post-purchase modifications to the product (such as engraving, additional accessories, etc.) are not included in the warranty coverage. Users must properly maintain items for the warranty to be effective.
Testing your drinkware’s insulation properties: Testing your drinkware’s insulation properties is easy and can be done at home! Begin by filling the tumbler up to the neck with boiling water, taking care to avoid burns by using caution during pouring (consider placing the cup on a sturdy surface rather than holding it). Allow the cup of hot water to sit for 5 minutes, then gently feel the outside of the flask for any hot spots. Be mindful to avoid touching the neck, as the stainless-steel lip may retain heat. If you detect any hot spots on the body of the cup, it could indicate compromised insulation, making you eligible for warranty coverage.
GAMES
Including: the Card Set and Backgammon Set
Our warranty covers manufacturer’s faults, material issues, or defects in craftsmanship. However, it does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, natural disasters, or accidental damage such as drops, hits, scratches, blemishes from use, and similar occurrences. Additionally, lost parts or accessories, as well as damage due to improper use, care, or cleaning, are not covered. Users must properly maintain items for the warranty to be effective.
